My love for yoga stretches all the way back to my childhood where I would tag along with my mom to practice. This great love affair flourished across various teachers and places with most of my practices leading me towards Iyengar classes. These experiences fused with my teacher training in Hatha Vinyasa has led to a style of flow with a strong focus on alignment. I am told no two classes of mine are the same and what I love most is to explore movement with pranayama, meditation and music. My classes are for anyone and everyone. If injuries or inexperience prevent you from doing an asana, an alternative is provided or simply a suggestion to come back to child’s pose and your breath 🤍

I have been practicing yoga for many, many years and have been teaching for 8 years. For me, yoga has always been about creating MY own space and finding time to be on my mat. I can’t wait to meet you on yours , as we create space not only in our bodies but in our minds and hearts too

Tanya Botha

I began teaching yoga in 2006 as one of the first vinyasa instructors in South Africa, aiming to share the calming, focusing, and uplifting benefits I experienced. My commitment extends beyond the physical practice to the spiritual purpose of yoga, and I love witnessing the transformation in students, from fitness and flexibility to stress relief and personal awakening. With an established hot yoga and vinyasa practice, I immersed myself in Ashtanga Vinyasa and Anusara Yoga, learning to address misalignments and weaknesses with precision and without pain. The yogic philosophy resonates deeply with my intuitive nature and fascination with the mystical. My respect and gratitude for the ongoing revelations and joy this path brings are profound.

After immersing myself in the practice of yoga for some years , I found myself doing what I so often do, throwing myself in the deep-end of a 250-hour teacher training with Michelle van Straaten. Although my intention was simply to expand my own practice, what emerged was a true love for teaching and sharing this multi- layered, ancient practice of yoga with others. My classes are a flowy mix of strength and focus, open to all levels. The emphasis being to tune-in and connect with yourself. Each session is infused with a light energy, creating space for exploration and growth, mind and body…. And everything in between.

Kirsty

When the curtain fell on her dream of becoming a ballet dancer, Kirst thought the music had stopped— until she rolled out a yoga mat and found a new rhythm, one that asked for presence, not perfection. It was movement without performance, grace without judgment. In 2017, she followed that quiet calling through her first teacher training, and she's been guiding others ever since— with a twinkle in her eye and deep respect for the body’s wisdom. Kirst will meet you exactly where you are, whether you're floating through flow or figuring out which foot is left. She creates space to move with honesty and heart, to stretch into strength, and soften into stillness— to play at your edge, and rest when you need to.

I am a practicing intuitive healer, and when teaching yoga, I encourage my students to ‘feel’ their poses and explore the depths they are willing or able to go on that day. I know this helps us get deeper into ourselves and supports us to heal through this somatic experience. My classes vary from a slower, more meditative hatha, to a faster, flowing practice depending on the energy of the class. My first taste of yoga was around 12 years old and I felt the benefits immediately although it took me some years to get into a regular practice. Fast forward a couple of decades and I feel incomplete without 4 or 5 classes a week ! What started off as a regular vinyasa flow soon included restorative, yin, therapeutic and meditative yoga with a clear focus on alignment. I love the body awareness, mindfulness and openness yoga has brought into my body and my life

Ganapatsy aka Patsy Finger ex USA

All the way from America but with her roots firmly planted in South Africa, a teacher who needs no introduction is Patsy Finger (aka Ganapatsy). Patsy’s practice originates in ISHTA yoga an acronym for Integrated Science of Hatha, Tantra and Ayurveda. Patsy has taught for decades from Jhb to Manhattan & LA and is widely known for her healing work and extensive knowledge of crystals and their healing properties. In Sanskrit, Ishta means 'that which resonates with the individual spirit.’ By the end of a Patsy class one feels shifted with a sense of coming back to oneself. It is a deeply layered and transformative session.

I have run two 200 hour teacher trainings in Johannesburg. I am a practicing dietitian and a professional DJ. I draw inspiration from the ashtanga vinyasa system of yoga from which I curate flow sequences. My classes are accessible to both beginner and advancing students.
