In February, Pia Tedeschi spent a week at the beautiful Pachers Boutique Hotel in South Tyrol, Italy, immersed in the breathtaking landscape of the Dolomites, where the mountains had just provided the backdrop for the Winter Olympics.
Throughout the week, Pia shared a series of yoga practices with hotel guests and members of the local community, creating space for movement, breath and stillness against the extraordinary backdrop of the Italian Alps.
But this was about far more than yoga.
Days unfolded around exquisite, locally sourced cuisine, time in nature and the simple pleasure of being fully immersed in a winter mountain landscape. Between practices there was skiing, tobogganing, long walks, time to unwind and explore, and the quiet luxury of the hotel’s beautiful surroundings.
The experience offered a wonderful balance of movement and adventure, nourishment and rest, connection and solitude. Yoga became one thread woven through a week of experiencing South Tyrol at its most beautiful.
From snow-covered peaks to long dinners around the table, this was a celebration of nature, movement, food and the art of slowing down.
A winter retreat in the truest sense: not an escape from life, but an invitation to experience it more fully
