As 2025 neared its end, a group of ten yogis gathered at the serene Melody Hill Retreat in the heart of the Magaliesberg for a weekend of deep reconnection and soul recalibration.
We began our journey with a refreshing, freshly pressed green juice — the first of many intentional acts of release and nourishment. This retreat was a pause, a reset, and an invitation to let go of what no longer served us on every level — body, mind, and spirit.
Set against the backdrop of the ancient Magaliesberg mountains — more than two million years in the making — the space itself became our silent guide. Amid lush greenery and stillness, we shared home-cooked vegetarian meals, laughter, introspection, and powerful movement.
Throughout the weekend, Pia guided us through a rich offering of practices:
-
Hatha Vinyasa to energize
-
Yin and Nidra to soften and surrender
-
Pranayama, Meditation, and Journaling to go inward and connect deeply
Each session echoed the transformative energy of the Scorpio new moon — a time for honest self-reflection, emotional depth, and empowered release.
The retreat culminated in a walking meditation through the koppies — a quiet communion with the land, fully immersed in the textures, sounds, and scents of Magaliesberg. Every step, a meditation. Every breath, a celebration of being.
This retreat was more than a weekend getaway — it was a return to self. One we’ll gladly repeat.
